Cellmania Signs Agreement with India's Wireless Carrier AirTel to Provide Customers Access to Customized WAP Directory

Cellmania also establishes software development center in New Delhi

Mountain View, Calif. -- Cellmania Inc., the first information technology ecosystem to touch all aspects of the wireless supply chain, today announced that it signed an agreement with India's AirTel to license mFinder™, the world's most comprehensive wireless application protocol (WAP) directory, to AirTel's wireless services customers. AirTel, which is Delhi's first cellular operator, will use mFinder as a default search engine for its WAP services in India, enabling users to surf the wireless Web.

"AirTel is committed to providing carrier class WAP-enabled services to our customers. mFinder is yet another step in that direction," said Sanjay Kapoor, CEO of AirTel. "With the mFinder platform, AirTel will provide the largest and the broadest range of WAP-based personalized services as compared to any cellular operator in India to date." Through mFinder, customers have free access to more than 5,000 of the best wireless Internet sites from around the globe, expert reviews, consumer ratings, and personalized bookmarks. Each site listed on the mFinder directory has been tested and certified by Cellmania's board of editors based on the following criteria: overall usefulness to the mobile consumer, content, ease of use and navigation, interactivity and robustness of site. mFinder also allows consumers to test drive and bookmark mobile Internet sites directly from their PC to their Web-enabled phone, which saves both time and money.

"We are customizing mFinder to meet India's requirements so that the Indian customers can access the wireless web with as much ease as their U.S. counterparts. We believe our alliance with AirTel now heralds a new era in India's m-commerce industry. In the future we are going to introduce more m-commerce products in the Indian market," said Dr. Ronjon Nag, CEO and co-founder of Cellmania, Inc.

To that end, Cellmania Inc. today also announced plans to establish a Center of Excellence for the Mobile Internet in New Delhi, India, which will be a software development center and infrastructure for wireless products and services for international customers. Rakesh Gupta, formerly of Motorola, has been named Cellmania's Center of Excellence India Country Manager.

"Given our agreements with international companies such as Motorola, Office Depot and Broadvision, the time is right for Cellmania to establish an office in India, especially as more of our focus will be on the Asian market. India has surprised the world with its stupendous growth of PC and cell phone users. As cell phone users are growing at a much faster pace than PC users, we feel there is tremendous opportunity for m-commerce in India and plan to tap into this boom," said Nag.
